Grey's Anatomy - Patrick Dempsey - McDreamy!

Hmmmm McDreamy...
Sigh, how can someone just look so sensuous, romantic, vulnerably, sweet, charming and simply 'out of this world' handsome? I started out watching Grey's Anatomy last month and I am so addicted to that now that I can't get through a day without watching atleast 2 or 3 episodes! McDreamy makes me dream with eyes wide open. Ok, you can stop being judgemental about my latest crush on Dr. Shepherd! ( All Grey's Anatomy fans can completely identify with me and the others please download a season and watch a few episodes before you say anything else.)
First thing first, this show is simply amazing and a must watch for it's fantastic storyline and cast.
I had been watching GA since this morning on my laptop, and as I turned on the TV, I saw a scene from Kaho na Pyaar hai, and I was stunned - Patrick Dempsey looks like Hrithik Roshan!

Have a look -

Hrithik Roshan looks a lot like Patrick Dempsey

I am happy now, in a few years Hrithik is gonna get as charming as he matures and India can have it's own McDreamy!

What do I need?

People say I’m beautiful,
I wonder why I don’t feel so.
Some say I got a great job,
I don’t think I think so.
Friends keep telling me I am adorable,
I still don’t feel so happy inside,
I am told I am young and life’s waiting for me,
Still why in my mind I sense a divide!
It’s frustrating to know that I can’t feel what I want to feel,
No matter how much I tell me myself, this broken heart doesn’t heal.
Something is missing and I am desperately trying to find,
All I see is a deserted road of life, front and behind.
I am turning to people for comfort who I barely know,
Where’s that one shoulder for a lifetime, where I thought I could always go?
I need that passion again, that zeal, that fire, that soul,
I need my hand to be held, so I can feel whole.
I know now what can make me myself, and help ease this pain,
I need to be loved, and I need to love again...

Must See Sitcoms

 Not just the housewives series

·      FRIENDS A series showing the lives of 6 friends in Manhattan, where each has its own life with fun, humor and romance in it. It’s believed to be the best series ever made! With 10 seasons, this is a must see for all, esp. the younger crowd. You’ll literally be sad when the last episode ends, that why did it end!!

·     How I Met Your Mother Something similar to FRIENDS, but it’s more about the working youngsters. The plot begins where Ted, the anchor of the story, is telling his kids how he met their mother. The entire 6 seasons so far is the journey full of fun and friendships!

·      Castle One of the smartest, coolest, neatest detective series ever made, with the best cast, with Nathan Filion and Stana Katic, you’ll fall in love with their wits! Castle, a story writer works shadow to a detective cop, Kate. The series is how they solve murder mysteries together, with her smartness, and his imagination!

·      Heroes Made on the lines of X-men, this series is also about the human mutation, and how there are super humans around us, with extraordinary powers. Now obviously there’ll be some who’ll want it all, and they need to be stopped. Each episode is 40 mins, and these would be edge of the seat 40 mins guaranteed! A very well directed series, with awesome cast and screenplay; it makes you feel like you’re watching a good Hollywood movie!

·      Grey’s Anatomy Absolute must watch for all the medical students and Biology lovers. (and everyone else!). It’s the story of Meredith grey, an intern at a hospital, her life with her parents, her friends, and the romance! With lots of medical emergencies thrown about, it makes for a great watch whenever you have an hour free!

·       Big Bang Theory Hilarious comedy to it’s very core! You’ll understand it better if you are of were ever a science student.(there’re terms like beta rays, Kelvin temp etc thrown about!). It’s a story of 4 scientist friends – Sheldon, Leonard, Howard and Rajesh, and their pretty girl-next-door neighbor, Penny. Jim Parsons(Sheldon) is like another Mr Bean – Super cute, and super funny, almost not human! Story progresses slowly through 5 seasons, but with just 20 min long episodes, you can watch one whenever you’re free!

·       Lost A one of its kind Sci-fi series. A group of people get stranded on an island of mysteries after a plane crash. But there’s more to it than the deserted forest as they thought. A must watch thriller.

The Right Time

The tides were high,
the heart was low,
I would walk on the shore barefoot,
and see the waters flow.

I saw his face smiling at me,
from that orange sky above,
my heart then ached to hold his hand,
a tear dropped from the eyes full of love.

I never figured out what went wrong,
what let our lives drift apart,
I wonder why people can’t get second chances,
when it’s not too hard to make a new start.

He said but he can't turn back, and time had passes;
Now life couldn’t be the same way as I see,
i looked into his eyes with the love of a million moments spent alone,
and I said-"Time is always right,
Whenever you want it to be..."

I am alone

Today I'm lost, I've lost myself,
Gone with you is the smile you said you love,
I am searching the reasons, answers to whys,
in the deep dark ocean high above.

I know not what to say and what to tell my eyes-
Who’ve been dry all night, lost all their tears,
I am calling you -"come",
And be there to shed my fears.

The days are getting darker, nights are worse,
Stars have stopped twinkling too,
Loneliness too is losing meaning come back soon,
As long as this heart beats, I'll wait for you...

Must Watch Movies of All Times - I

Must watch movies of All Times - I
Movies are the best way to entertain oneself, be it when you’re getting bored at home alone, or wanna have fun in your hostel room with friends, when you’re too excited about that first crush and need a romantic comedy to give you company, or when you’re sad after a breakup! I have compiled a list of my favorite movies covering all genres, and guaranteed to give you 2-3 hours of pure entertainment!
I hope you enjoy these movies. I’m sure some of you must have seen some or all of these, but I’ll be thrilled if you can leave a feedback for your favorite movies from this list for the benefit of all readers. Thanks and cheers to a fun cinema experience in your room with a bowl of popcorn or chicken wings!!

If Only – This is by far one of my favorite romantic movies of all times. The story revolves around a live-in couple, who discover through a series of importance of giving each other time cos you never know when it runs out! A must watch for all romantics out there!

P.S. I Love You – Based on a Novel, this movie is about how the love keeps surprising you even from beyond! Truly a wonderful romantic cute movie!

Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge – This is the Favorite romantic movie of all Indians and all SRK lovers!

English Vinglish – The newest one in this list, this is a comeback for Sridevi. The story of how an average Indian hindi speaking woman goes to US and how the she learns English to uphold her respect.

Walk to Remember – Based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks, this is not for the weak hearted. It’s a story of a boy girl who fall in love when they thought they never will!

The Notebook – That kiss in the movie won international fame, what more do I say! Must watch this for some steamy romance and a typical romantic plot.

Serendipity – Love will happen if it’s meant to be, this one’s wonderful till the very end. A must watch for the new couples, together!

Finding Nemo – The best animation movies of all times! The characters are so cute, and the story is simply awesome of how a father searches for his son through the deep dark oceans!

WallEThis one is the Oscar winner class of animation movies! Set far in the future, it gives a very subtle message of what’s gonna happen if we do not start eating and living right!

Adventures of TinTinWe all have read Tin Tin since our school days, and the fun just never stops! With good story and humor thrown about, this would be loved by kids and adults alike!

Harry Potter series (all 7 titles)J.K. Rowling started writing these stories as bedtime tales for her son, and soon became an international favorite with the wonderfully smart, cute, sensitive and adorable character of Harry Potter. The story starts from how Harry is born and survives an attack by Voldemort, and ends with the end of Evil. Watch all 7 titles (8 movies) to see how it all unfolds.

Lord of the RingsThis is by far one of the best movie series based on a Trilogy which is almost as good as the novel if not better! Takes you into the fantasy world, and keeps you entertained through and through.

Taken – A story of how a father searches for his taken daughter in a different country, before she’s sold but he only has 72 hours!

Sherlock Holmes – Crime, mystery, thrill. This one has it all. And Robert Downey Jr, just rocks as Sherlock!

The Raid RedemptionAn Indonesian Movie, this one is a class apart for its sheer thrill of the action sequences and the crisp editing and screenplay. A must watch if you like action movies.

Mean Girls – A girly comedy of love, jealousy, and bitchiness! Watch it with your girlfriends on the next slumber party!

Saw I and IIPure thriller and horror mix, the SAW series is not for the weak of heart. It has weird change of events and gross scenes, which do not scare you like the ghosts in usual horror movies, but shakes your nerves in a worse way!

SevenA psyco is out in the open killing people to show examples of the seven deadly sins. Edge of the seat screenplay.

Carry on Jatta – A typical Punjabi movie and a comedy to its very core. Perfect example of ROFL with awesome story involving a complex mixup of who’s who’s wife, who’s staying in which house, who’s who’s father and oh god!! Watch it if you can understand Punjabi language fairly well, cos honestly the feel just won’t be the same with English subtitles.

Matrix SeriesSet far into the future when teleportation is a norm and AI (Artificial Intelligence) has taken over mankind. That’s when, The One, would come and save the world. It’s a series of 3 and takes your imagination for a wild ride!

TitanicTitanic has won so many Oscars that I doubt if there’s anyone who has not seen this epic movie based on the true story of the grand ship, Titanic that sank on its first journey when it hit an iceberg.

Hangover – Truly a bachelor’s comedy, and so hilarious. I remember watching it in a theatre, and the audience was just clapping and laughing loudly almost every few mins!

Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander This movie is from the early days of Amir Khan, when he was at his cutest best! The story revolves around the rivalry between the 4 colleges in the area and how a cycle race changes their lives.

LagaanLagaan was sent for the Oscar’s in the Best Foreign Film category. It’s one of Amir’s best ventures. The movie is set in the pre-independence India. A cricket match is set to see if the taxes on the poor farmers can be lifted for the period of draught. A must watch movie, for incredible story, fabulous direction and smart filling of jokes and humor throughout!

Slumdog Millionaire – This is based on a novel Q&A by Vikas Swarup. As the title says, it’s a story of how a slumdog from the poorest corners of India, becomes a millionaire on a KBC kind of show. But not cos he crammed or read about the answers to the questions, but because each question had it’s answer presented to him in the events of his life since his begging days to his call centre days!

Solitude

Rays of Hope

Sometimes it's all about the right timing!

Jewellery made with Lotus!

A very nice man assisting in the Shikara, made this for me, using the lotus picked from the Kodai lake. Boating in the lake on a cool foggy evening feels so serene. Some parts of the lake are not very clean though, but boating is a fun thing to do, unless it’s very crowded. Try this next time you're in Kodaikanal.

The Truth

There're times when I close my eyes and yet stare at the open sky,
Looking back at the moments gone and sometimes I just wonder why.
There had been times when I lost to life & faced it with a sigh-
Yet there were times of trivial unexpected victories called 'moments of high'.

I wonder at the feeling of love when his gaze can make her shy,
But I doubt the heart of man when on the streets I see a hungry baby cry.
Do you know how over small issues we worry and make them magnify,
Yet when the real challenge comes to shine out, we just let the moment go passing by.

On the green grass, under the same wide blue sky when I lie,
I just think - are we fit to live,
if we don’t discover for what can we die?

Top 20 - A List of MUST Read Books

A List of MUST Read books - by an avid reader
Friends, foremost, this list is not exhaustive as I plan my last activity in life being reading my own autobiography! I love reading and being from ICSE board schooling, I started my share of Shakespeare books when I was 12 years old.  I guess those amazing stories of Romeo Juliet, Macbeth, The Tempest, and Taming of the shrew, just laid the groundwork in making my mind hungry for more. I like reading all sorts of books, novels, be it fiction, non-fiction, romantic, sci-fi, thriller, crime, fantasy and the works. This list is the first of its kind I’ve made, and I’ve only named here the quality yet fun reads so that even the beginners into the reading world can buy these the next time they go to landmark, Amazon or Crosswords, and say thanks to me once they’re done with the last page.
I’ll mention the genres of the book and the author along with the title and the price (wherever I can remember). I hope you enjoy reading this article, as well as the books mentioned.
I am planning to write detailed reviews on individual titles soon. I request all the readers to please comment here on what you think is the best book from this list, and any other you think is worth a mention in the category of light fun reads.

Please note, the list is not in any order of ranking.
